A Community project for Exning & North Newmarket
We can't promise to provide any specific activities at this stage.
Following the Launch Event on February 13th, we have reviewed the level of interest in specific activities and the availability of leaders/teachers for the popular activities.
The Summer Program for 2010 includes opportunities to:
- sing in a choir for enjoyment and possible performances
- sing in a less formal group including those who think they don't have a singing voice
- Learn/play guitar & Learn to read music
What’s on offer?

“Fun Singing” on Launch Day
There are people, including school children, who already play an instrument but don't have opportunities to play with others. We hope I the future to facilitate the formation of music groups and provide places where they can rehearse ......and opportunities for them to perform, for example :
- Guitar/rock groups/folk bands
- Brass and woodwind
- Strings
Who knows, if there is enough interest that might lead, in time, to an orchestra.
- Some people want to learn to play an instrument,
- We hope we may be able to encourage people to start to play.
This is not a substitute for taking lessons with a professional music teacher but may act as a "taster" to show people that they enjoy playing.
But ..........but remember We can't promise to provide any specific thing at this stage....................(but we're hoping to provide a variety of music that will meet most people’s needs!)
